Famous singer Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in February 20th 1988, is a Caribbean singer and songwriter from St. Michaels Barbados. She was born to Afro-Guyanese mother, Monica Brathwaite and Ronald Fenty, father, of Barbadian and Irish origin. Rihanna’s love for music started when she was seven years old. She grew up listening to reggae music and even formed a trio band with two of her classmates. Her musical career, however, kicked off when she met with Evan Rogers, an American producer through a mutual friend of his wife. Rogers liked Rihanna’s singing and later introduced her to Jay Z, the then president of Def Jam Recordings, with whom he signed a contract in 2003. This would become the beginning of her musical success as she released numerous hit songs such as Pon de Replay from her debut album, Music of the Sun. This was followed by several other billboard favorites such as Umbrella, Take a Bow, Disturbia, Diamonds, Te Amo among others. This has made Rihanna one of the most influential celebrities of all time.
