Stefanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta, popularly known by her pseudonym Lady Gaga is an actress and singer born in Manhattan, New York on March 28th 1986 to parents Cynthia Louise and Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr, both whom were Catholic. By the age of 4, the young Lady Gaga had learned how to play the piano and even composed a piano ballad at the age of thirteen. Even though she attended school at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Lady Gaga was an active child and teenager because she took part in school plays such as Guys and Dolls where she played Adelaide and started singing at open mic forums. This gave her the foundation of what would became a successful musical career. When she was at the University of New York, she dropped out in order to pursue her musical career at the age of 19. Gaga and some of her friends from NYU would later from a band with the name Stefanie Germanotta band or SGBand which performed on several gigs before Gaga was discovered by Rob Fusari in 2006. She worked with Fusari and he helped her land a contract with Def Jam Recordings.
